External Competition Rules

Our series of Internal Competitions are designed to allow for both prints and PDI entries to represent the theme alternatively, as agreed at our 2025 AGM. All details are here on our website - but I will also keep you informed in BBPS News and on our Members Facebook page. As prints are involved, Hand Ins will always be at a face to face meeting.

Competition entries may comprise 2 open and/or 2 themed prints/PDIs - please check info in the chart above.

PLEASE NOTE:

A Print or PDI may be used ONCE only in an Internal 'monthly' Competition i.e: a PDI entered into the Open Section of an Internal Competition may not be used in the Themed Section of a later Internal Competition - or vice versa.

Also a Print entered into the Open Section of an Internal Competition may not be used in the Themed Section of a later Internal Competition - or vice versa.

The exception to this rule would be that any images or prints used for an Internal 'monthly' Competition may be used for the Anniversary Trophy Competition OR the Print of the Year Competition, PROVIDED that they meet the criteria required for those competitions.

Prints should be mounted 500mm x 400mm * PLEASE WRITE THE TITLE ON THE REVERSE OF THE PRINT and your MEMBERSHIP NUMBER ... BUT NOT YOUR NAME!

PDIs should be sized 1600 x 1200 (Please remember that images in portrait format should measure a max of 1200 on the vertical. Your editing software will adjust the width accordingly)

PDI entries should be sent to our Internal Competition Secretary Gary Griffiths dbgriffiths31@gmail.com

Prints should be handed in at our face to face meetings as in the chart above.

I've been asked if you can use your 2025 Anniversary Competition images for our Internal Competitions. YES, you can.

Although you are not able to use Internal Competition images more than once (either as a PDI when a print was originally used, or as a print when a PDI was originally used), you may use your Anniversary images for our Internal Competitions - so if you entered 4 images for the Anniversary comp then you may use each one of those once for the Internal Comps.

Our 7th Anniversary Competition takes place on 29 September 2026
