SOCIETY EVENINGS

We meet each Tuesday - face to face on the first and last Tuesday evenings of the month at Briton Ferry Town Council Community Hall SA11 2NS and other Tuesday evenings via Zoom.

Our programme of events includes local presenters, and well known presenters from across the country via Zoom who we may not be able to see otherwise.

Our own BBPS members also make significant contributions to our meetings with Show & Tell Evenings where up to 10 members show their images to us. A few members have also given a full evening's presentation of their work.

Around 75% of our membership regularly attend the weekly meetings via Zoom and/or face to face.

THURSDAY DAYS OUT

Each Thursday we head out on a photoshoot to various locations across south Wales. Sometimes it's a town for Street Photography, on other Thursdays it might be a Country Park for Wildlife, or a Landscape/Seascape location. Thursdays almost always begin with a coffee and a catch-up chat before we all go our own way around the location meeting back up for lunch - and to compare notes. It's always amazing to see how differently we all see things in the same location.

SUMMER NIGHTS

During June, July and August, our usual Tuesday evening meetings swap the four walls for open skies as we head out on location shoots around the local area. We hunt down interesting spots, occasionally setting up at sundown, and shoot our way into the night, some trying to experiment with long exposures and low-light magic, others just capturing the beauty of evening free hand.

After we’ve filled our memory cards (and possibly questioned our tripod stability), we regroup at a nearby pub or café bar. There, we tackle the important topics: comparing techniques, sharing tall tales, debating the price of a pint, and, of course, swapping stories that may or may not involve “the biggest fish” the best image of the evening.
